Red-Lined seven-up for Vryheid

Seven KZN entries for double title leading Red-Lined

It’s all hands-on deck as Red-Lined Motorsport heads to Vryheid for the VAPS HCV 400 over the weekend of 9 and 10 October. The team leads two of the 2026 South African Rally-Raid Class Championships as it heads to the crucial penultimate round in Northern KwaZulu-Natal.

“It’s seven-up for Red-Lined Motorsport as we head to Vryheid leading both the SA T1+ and T1 championships,” Red-Lined Group CEO Terence Marsh explains. “The SA T1+ chase is super close between two Red-Lined REVO T1+ V8 teams, while we have a trio of Red-Lined VK-50s fighting it out for the T1 class championship.”

All eyes will be on the SA T1+ championship fight as KEC Racing father and son duo, Johan and Sean van Staden currently lead the Penta Motor Group crew, Philip Botha and Stopmie Mynhardt by all of two points. Among their class rivals are the ever-improving Abrie and Iaan Olivier in their similar V8 powered VAPS HCV Rally-Raid REVO T1+, who sit fourth in the title chase. Exciting young DaklaPack Rallysport pairing, Pim Klaassen and Sasha Siripanyavuthi will compete under the Red-Lined Motorsport banner for the first time at Vryheid aboard the Dragon Energy powered REVO T1+ GT-R.

Three Red-Lined VK50s meantime sit 1-2-3 in the National T1 class championship chase. VAPS HCV Rally-Raid crew of Peet Victor and Van Zyl Jonck currently lead young privateers, Nielen Marx and Rikus Hattingh. A second VAPS HCV crew, Tyler Botha and Kyle Lotter sit in third place.

“Our focus is clearly on protecting our double championship advantage in what’s expected to be another tough and challenging event in Vryheid this weekend,” Terence Marsh concludes. “Our technical team have put a lot of effort into preparing the race cars for KZN, so it’s down to the respective crews to deliver on the day!”
