Round two of the 2024 Defender Rally Series UK Championship takes place this week, from Friday 12 to Saturday 13 April, at Rally Nuts in Wales.
Mark Thomas and co-driver Phil Macay lead the Championship, followed by Dennis Ferry and Richard Mills, in second, and Richard Kingsley-Smith and Adel Tyson, in third.
Calum McKechnie, General Manager, Bowler Motors, said: “The drivers and co-drivers have had their first taste of competition at our private opening round, so now it’s up to them to take what they learned at Walters Arena and build on it. The next round will be a very different type of rally, with multiple stages in different locations rather than repeated loops, so balancing confidence with caution will be crucial. To add to the excitement they are, for the first time, now competing amongst 180 other competitors of various classes.”
Mark Thomas, winner of the first round of the UK Championship, said: “Rally Nuts will pose a very different challenge to the opening round, with the co-driver playing a much more pivotal role in ensuring we stay fast and on the track! We're focused on finishing the rally without worrying about the position, as you can be the fastest driver in the world, but if you don't finish it's all over.”
