Last weekend in Lahti, Finland, F1 driver Valtteri Bottas and the Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK starred in the spectacular FNLD GRVL competition on two wheels.
The first edition of the spectacular FNLD GRVL cycling race in Lahti, Finland – which involved thousands of enthusiasts for two wheels – has just drawn to a close. One of the many fans from all over the world who took part was F1 driver Valtteri Bottas, co-founder of the event and proud ambassador of the venues for the sporting event. Valtteri feels very much at home in Lahti: a native of the nearby town of Nastola, this was his stomping ground when he was growing up. It is also an area very dear to him, as he does most of his athletic training there.
The bond that has been forged between the driver and the Alfa Romeo F1 KICK team is genuinely robust and this collaboration serves as evidence that goes beyond Formula 1. The team embraced the Finnish champion's project straight away, by announcing its engagement as Title Sponsor.
As technical support and as the Media Cars of the spectacular cycling race, Alfa Romeo’s Giulia and Tonale kicked off the event and guided the group along the different routes available to the participants.
The images of the event are utterly breathtaking. The Finnish environment as a backdrop definitely played a key role.
Valtteri Bottas, Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK Driver:
“FNLD GRVL is more important to me than merely as a cycling competition.
This event has given me the opportunity to celebrate the area I come from, but above all to show it to enthusiasts for two wheels and so many others. The unspoiled nature of Finland is something unique that deserves to be shared, shown off and preserved.
