Global Touring Cars (GTC), the premiere motorsport championship in South Africa, has been showcasing the country’s best up and coming young drivers since 2016. This year, both the GTC and SupaCup categories will contest the championship over seven rounds at five circuits around South Africa.
“As a brand that values innovation, excellence and performance, Goscor Lift Truck Company (GLTC) sees great alignment between its values and the adrenaline-fueled world of car racing. We recognise the immense popularity and reach of the championship, which provides an ideal platform for us to strengthen our brand recognition, states Cecil Oates, MD of GLTC. “Arnold is a talented and experienced competitor who we are confident will perform exceptionally well in the competition,” he adds.
Neveling (32) started racing at age five and after winning numerous club and regional titles and at age 15 went on to compete internationally, winning the European Junior Max Karting Championship. In 2008, he progressed to Formula cars, competing in the Northern European Formula Renault Cup, alongside Formula 1 drivers Valtteri Bottas and Daniel Ricardo, picking up two podium finishes along the way. A lack of funds put an early stop to his efforts but on his return, he dominated the local scene by winning two South African National Karting Championships, one African Open Championship and finished fourth at the 2018 Rotax World Karting Finals.
Since 2019, he raced in the South African Polo Cup Championship, and from 2021 joined Stradale Motorsport to participate in the South African Endurance series where with his co-driver won both the 6-hour race at Dezzi Raceway and the 9-hour race at Killarney International Raceway. Earlier this year he participated in the Intercontinental GT Challenge Kyalami 9 Hour for Mercedes Benz.
GLTC is proud to be a sponsor in Arnold’s journey to success. “We wish Arnold all the best for the season and look forward to seeing him represent our company on the racetrack,” concludes Oates.
