Fleet Safety Awards deadline extended!

Entries for the 2023 Fleet Safety Awards have already doubled compared to last year. With only two days left to enter, requests to extend this deadline are flowing in. As a result, the deadline will be extended by one week and will close next week Tuesday on 25 July 2023.

The CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, says a greater response was expected this year but the growth was even larger than expected. “With such an enthusiastic response, we are more than happy to extend the deadline by a week to accommodate those who have not yet had a chance to complete their first entry. The focus of the Awards is to showcase the fleet safety strategy of organisations setting a good example on the roads.

“Consequently, if more individuals would still like to enter the Awards, we do not want to hamper that. The more individuals and organisations that are proud of their achievement in reducing crash and fatality rates, the better it is for the future of road safety for South Africa as a whole. Thus, those who still want to enter have an extra week in which to do so.”

The good news is that with the new entry site an extension does not affect anyone else. “Those that have already entered received, or will soon receive, entry into the second round. An extension creates no delay to second round finalists who can carry on completing this round. It simply provides an opportunity for every organisation invested in road safety to show their commitment.

“After this extra week, however, entries for the first round will close. Thus, we urge you to make the most of the extra week to submit your entry. Set aside 3-4 minutes this week to complete the first round as it will not take longer than this. Additionally, the sooner you complete your entry the more time you give yourself to start the second round which is more extensive and takes a bit longer than a few minutes.”

MasterDrive is proud to see the growth of the competition in just two years. “Yet, we know that this growth is not yet completed. More individuals and organisations want to enter the running and an extension provides the means to do that,” says Herbert.
