Smith Power appoints Bloemfontein dealer

As part of its drive to better serve its customers across all regions, Smith Power Equipment, an importer and distributor of leading global agricultural machinery, turf equipment and off-road vehicles, has appointed Jet Sport as the new dealer for itsLinhai and Polaris ranges of off-road vehicles in Bloemfontein.

Effective July 1 this year, Jet Sport is now the authorised dealer of the Linhai and Polaris rangesof off-road vehicles in Bloemfontein, the capital of the Free State province in South Africa. The company, which also offers trail rides and day outrides, will supply the full range of both Polaris and Linhai all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and sides-by-sides.

“We identified Jet Sport as the ideal business partner to market, sell and service this range of products in Bloemfontein,” explains Phil Greenall, Dealer Sales Manager – Linhai and Polaris Division at Smith Power Equipment (SPE). “Our customers will benefit from the new dealer’s provenservice and backup capabilities.”

Founded in 2001, Jet Sport has an established, loyal customer base across South Africa, but with a main focus in the Freestate. “Our dealership started in 2001 selling with other ATVs, side-by-sides and jetskis. With the recent move to our new premises, we also added the Indian Motorcycle products to our stable,” says Leander Pienaar, owner of Jet Sport.

Pienaar is excited to add the new product range from SPE, especially Polaris, which he says is the leading brand name in this space. “We have previously lost many deals to Polaris, especially those customers who have true Polaris ‘blood’ within them. The opportunity to make these customers part of our family, build new relationships and share our passion and experience with them, is the best thing for our business,” he says.

“Our showroom displays mostly premium American brands, all with great backup, which says a lot about what kind of dealership we are running. The Smith Power team are passionate about their brands and wants dealers to succeed. The team is always willing to go the extra mile, which makes it easier for us as a dealer to give our customers great service,”says Pienaar, adding that dealing in high-end and innovative brands at competitive pricing is a great advantage and complement to Jet Sport.

Jet Sport has already had early success with the new range, selling 6Linhaiall-terrain vehicles in a very short space of time. In its very first deal, Jet Sport managed to sell four units to a farm just outside Bloemfontein. “The four Rustler Linhai 260’s are already up and running, doing exactly what the customer bought them for. For us as the dealership, it is great to see a happy customer using a product that can add to the success of their businesssays Pienaar.

Smith Power Equipment has been distributing Polaris Industries products in South Africa since 1997. Polaris falls within the company’s off-road vehicles division, which was established to market and support the sales of Polaris quads and side-by-sides. SPE went on to expand its off-road vehicles division by adding the distribution rights for Linhai quads and side-by-sides produced by the Linhai Power Machinery Group.

The brands are complementary,in that SPE are able with their extensive product range to cater for both premium and value spectrums within themarketplace.

“We are privileged to be part of such a strong team with great product. We are very excited about our future relationship with SPE as market leader and are looking forward to offer unparalleled service to our customers,” concludes Pienaar.
