The FIA World Rallycross Championship has confirmed Champion Lubricants as its Official Lubricant Partner for the next two years – the forthcoming 2020 season and again in 2021.
Despite the motorsports industry facing unprecedented headwinds, the world continues to unite in support during these challenging times. As a global brand, Champion Lubricants helps to keep the world moving, and has declared that it is now more important than ever to invest in the future of its brand. Further strengthening relationships with like-minded motorsport partners such as World RX illustrates the company’s commitment towards a long term strategy, helping to build and secure a bright future for the sport.
The 2020 World RX season will consist of 10 two-day events driven on closed circuits with mixed surfaces (asphalt and gravel). Acting on the advice of government health authorities amid the ongoing health and safety concerns around the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, the final, revised schedule for 2020 is yet to be confirmed.
Following the signing of the partnership agreement, Frédéric Decroix, Global Marketing Director of Champion Lubricants, said: “Confidence, adventure and courage are at the very heart of the Champion name, brand and business. With this is mind, we make it our business to partner with those who share our strong ethos and brand values. This challenging competition, combining the thrill of rallying with the pedal-to-the-metal speed of circuit racing, provides the perfect platform for us to showcase the power of the Champion brand.
“As one of motorsport’s most extreme challenges, the electrifying World RX pushes drivers and their vehicles to the limit. As Official Lubricant Partner, we are proud to be by their side as drivers battle it out for a winning place on the podium.”
As part of the agreement, the Champion brand will have a strong multi-media presence at the race circuits, in industry publications and on social media.
“The FIA World Rallycross Championship is delighted to partner with a brand of the calibre of Champion Lubricants,” David Gillett, Commercial Director for World RX, said.
“In World RX competition, where our 600bhp race cars are tested to the extreme, the drivers need to have the utmost confidence in the engine lubricant products used. We are confident that Champion will prove an invaluable partner and are excited to have them on board for the next two years.”
