Honda South Africa - 2019 Wesbank SA Fuel Economy Tour

Honda South Africa has entered three of its models and an experienced team of three crews for the inaugural WesBank Fuel Economy Tour starting on Tuesday 12 November. The Honda models entered comprise of the stylish HR-V, the versatile BR-V and the sporty Civic Turbo.

The 2 500 km route will take the three Honda models and other competitors on a five-day drive on major roads from Johannesburg in Gauteng through the Free State to Durban in KwaZulu-Natal and then along a coastal route through East London, Port Elizabeth and George in the Eastern Cape, finishing in Cape Town in the Western Cape on Saturday 16 November.

The first WesBank SA Fuel Economy Tour, in partnership with FNB, is aimed at providing motorists with definitive car fuel consumption figures amongst a selection of car brands, as well as recommended travelling times between major centres in the country to help motorists achieve better value from a tank of fuel.

The Honda team includes:

  • Honda HR-V 1.8 Elegance
    Allan Rossenheimer (driver) and Nico Maritz (navigator)
    The Honda HR-V provides the style and versatility that takes you on a journey of wide-open possibilities. The HR-V 1.8 Elegance is powered by a SOHC i-VTEC 16V Inline 4-cylinder 1 799 cc petrol engine offering 105 kW and 172 Nm of torque.
  • Honda BR-V 1.5 Trend
    Lune Strydom (driver) and Larissa Strydom (navigator)
    The versatility and sophistication of the Honda BR-V gets you where you want to go, whether it's in the city or a weekend getaway. The BR-V 1.5 Trend has a 1 497 cc version of the same engine, offering 88 kW and 145 Nm of torque.
  • Honda Civic Sedan 1.5T Sport
    Matthew Kanniah (driver) and Kesh Naidu (navigator)
    The Civic Sedan takes sporty sophistication to a whole new level through brave and innovative thinking and design.  The Honda Civic Sedan 1.5T is powered by a 1 498 cc Inline 4 Cylinder VTEC turbo engine offering 127 kW and 220 Nm.
