Valtteri Bottas and the Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK perform on two wheels too

Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK announces its partnership with the FNLD GRVL race, as Title Sponsor of the prestigious cycling event co-founded by Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas.

The link between Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK and driver Valtteri Bottas goes far beyond Formula 1. Alongside his engagements on circuits around the world, Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK and the Finnish driver are also side by side in other sporting events where performance again plays a fundamental role.

This time, though, the concept of performance deviates from the normal 4-wheel challenge usual expectations: actually, this is a cycling competition, the FNLD GRVL (Finland Gravel) race. Valtteri co-founded the contest on two wheels, due to take place from June 8 through 10 on the gravel roads of Lahti, Finland. To embrace the Finnish champion’s project, Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK has announced its inclusion in the event as Title Sponsor.

The driver feels at home in Lahti, a Finnish location hosting multiple sporting competitions. It is also an area very dear to him, as he hails from nearby Nastola and does most of his athletic training there.

For athletes in many sports, cycling is now an optimal mode of training; Bottas’s passion for two wheels is also well known, especially for followers of the Finnish driver in Formula 1 and beyond. In F1 social media communications, it is not uncommon to interview drivers in their cars, during one or more intense training sessions or just while taking walks for leisure, far away from the driving seat.

Valtteri Bottas, Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK driver:

“Gravel bikes have become an important tool for my physical and mental health outside of the race car,” said Bottas. “With the partnership between Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK and FNLD GRVL, I’m excited that these two worlds now exist in tandem.”
