MasterDrive at Automechanika 2022

MasterDrive will be at Automechanika this year. It is the seventh year Automechanika is taking place and will be open from 7 to 10 June 2022 and will also feature the Futuroad Expo for the truck, bus and commercial vehicle sectors.

Automechanika has become an important mainstay in the industry and MasterDrive looks forward to participating. The CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, adds: “Automechanika and Futuroad provides a unique opportunity to connect with businesses in the industry.

“In particular, we look forward to hosting a workshop promoting driving excellence with a number of though-leaders addressing the responsibilities and ethics of companies when promoting road safety. The workshop includes a panel discussion on the progress made toward achieving zero emissions by 2050 which promises to evoke some interesting perspectives,” says Herbert.

The four-day event will be the biggest of its kind on the African continent. “We are excited to host the automotive aftermarket industry at this event. As Automechanika resumes worldwide, we saw an unprecedented interest, highlighting the importance of these events for trade professionals to network, increase brand awareness and to generate leads.

“Additionally, the automotive aftermarket environment is changing rapidly, due to recent technologies, particularly electrification. This makes employee training and education critical building blocks for businesses operating in a vastly different manner to before,” explains Michael Dehn, recently-appointed Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt South Africa.

MasterDrive will be in Hall 10 where we invite you to chat to us about our services. Alternatively, join us on Terrace Two to partake in our activations, which promise to be both exciting and informative.

The workshop will take place on 10 June 2022, and be a hybrid event. Guests can join in-person or pre-register to join virtually. Those who register to attend in-person will gain access to the Automechanika and Futuroad Expo as well.

The workshop, ‘Driving Excellence- the role of companies: examining their responsibilities and ethics’ will feature the following presenters:

  • Dr Lee Randall, Co-founder Road Ethics Project: Crashology and the ethics of road use
  • Craig Proctor-Parker, from Accident Specialist: The anatomy of a crash
  • Wayne Duvenage, CEO of OUTA: Accountability on our roads
  • Ivana Reis, Director of Storm Combat: Live demo on counter-offensive skills for vulnerable road users
  • Kuda Takura, Manager of Customer Experience at Ford: An OEMs perspective on ethics and safety

The Progress to zero emissions panel discussion will feature:

  • Eddie Cooke, independent gas consultant at RMI
  • Basil Govender, Executive Manager of SABOA
  • Reando Potgieter, CEO of Aeversa SA

MasterDrive anticipates another enlightening and thought-provoking event. “It is an opportunity to bring attention to road safety and the role and responsibility organisations have in leading the change we need,” says Herbert.
