The very existence of the National Employers’ Association of South Africa (NEASA) is aimed at supporting and empowering business. NEASA’s track record in this regard is beyond reproach; it has consistently proven itself as an organisation that goes far beyond the call of duty.
“However, when a business turns rogue, when it turns against other businesses and workers, undermining their constitutional rights and freedoms, and in doing so placing South Africa on a dangerous trajectory, our commitment towards that particular business lapses. When this occurs, as is currently the case, our obligation, as responsible citizens, is to protect the constitutional rights of all involved, both employers and employees,” said Gerhard Papenfus, Chief Executive of NEASA.
In view of mandatory vaccination policies introduced by certain ‘monopolies’, where the constitutional rights of individuals are blatantly disregarded, and the lacklustre support given by many trade unions, NEASA has established a MANDATES HELPDESK for employees, which will be tasked with the following:
• the evaluation of mandatory vaccination policies by these ‘monopolies’;
• advice on how to respond to these unreasonable demands;
• guidance in respect of appropriate action; and
• the referral to appropriate legal representation.
An employee who has no access to assistance can send an email to
Businesses (sub-contractors) confronted with mandatory vaccination demands from these ‘monopolies’, will be treated according to NEASA’s normal procedures; they can call our national hotline or contact one of our regional offices.
