Exhibiting in the MIWA Pavilion at Automechanika Johannesburg from 27-29 October 2026, ZF Aftermarket South Africa is showcasing ZF [pro]Tech Start, its free-to-access workshop support platform designed to help independent workshops improve efficiency, strengthen technical expertise, and stay ahead of rapidly evolving vehicle technologies.
The platform provides access to vehicle-specific installation instructions, technical support, service information, and manufacturer-related service campaigns, enabling workshops to deliver faster, more accurate repairs.
As vehicle technology advances, workshops face growing demands to service modern drivetrains, ADAS systems, connected vehicles, and electrified platforms. Through ZF [pro]Tech Start, technicians gain access to practical, original equipment (OE)-informed resources covering more than 15,000 vehicle applications, helping them diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles with confidence.
Visitors to the ZF stand – located at SP11 in the MIWA Spannertorque Pavilion, Hall 2 at the Gallagher Convention Centre – will have the opportunity to experience how ZF [pro]Tech Start serves as the gateway to the wider ZF workshop ecosystem, supporting technicians with the knowledge, tools, and technical assistance required to meet the changing needs of the aftermarket.
The programme forms part of ZF Aftermarket's broader commitment to supporting workshops across Africa to maintain mobility uptime through digital solutions, technical training, diagnostics, and premium product brands.
"At ZF Aftermarket, we believe that access to quality technical information is fundamental to workshop success," says Maic Dressen as Managing Director of ZF Services South Africa (Pty) Ltd and Sub-regional Head for Sub-Saharan Africa and the DomTom regions.
"Our participation in Automechanika Johannesburg provides an ideal opportunity to engage directly with workshop owners and technicians in Africa, one of our key global markets, while demonstrating how ZF [pro]Tech Start can help simplify complex repairs, improve productivity, and prepare businesses for the future of mobility."
Dressen also highlights the significance of providing independent workshops with free technical platforms, like ZF [pro]Tech Start, to directly support vehicle safety, road efficiency, transport reliability and economic development during Transport Month.
“October is Transport Month in South Africa, which serves as a timely reminder of how vital reliable mobility and vehicle uptime are to the economy. The timing of the expo and our solution showcase are a fitting culmination to this annual campaign.”
The showcase reflects ZF Aftermarket's global focus on helping workshops navigate industry transformation through innovative digital services, advanced diagnostic solutions, and ongoing technical training initiatives that support workshop efficiency and maximise vehicle uptime.
“Automechanika Johannesburg remains one of the leading platforms for connecting automotive aftermarket professionals, and ZF Aftermarket South Africa looks forward to engaging with visitors throughout the exhibition and demonstrating how ZF [pro]Tech Start can help workshops unlock new opportunities for growth and technical excellence,” concludes Dressen.
