The LEPAS L6 has picked up another international design award, taking home the Best Interior Design title at the 2026 Torino Automotive Design Award (TADA).
Handed out on 11 September at the Teatro Regio in Turin, Italy, during TADA’s second annual event, the award recognised the L6 specifically for its cabin design in the City Car class.
This year's competition featured 87 models from 46 Chinese carmakers. Divided into City Car, Family Car, and Premium Car categories, vehicles were judged on exterior styling, interior design, and tech innovations by a panel of senior European automotive journalists and editors.
For the L6, the win highlights what has been a key selling point from day one: its thoughtful design.
The L6 cabin is uncluttered and straightforward. A 13.2-inch touchscreen sits front and centre on the dash, complemented by everyday conveniences like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 50 W wireless charger, and dual-zone climate control.
The five-seater cabin makes full use of its 2,700 mm wheelbase to offer plenty of legroom up front and in the back, while a panoramic sunroof gives the cabin a bright, airy feel. Standard features across the South African lineup include black faux-leather seats, power-adjustable front seating, and a multifunction steering wheel.
Step up to the Pantera trim, and customers gain heated and ventilated front seats with power lumbar support, an eight-speaker Sony audio system, and customisable ambient lighting.
“The interior is such an important part of how people experience a vehicle because it is where they spend their time with it every day,” says Letitia Herold, National Brand and Marketing Manager at LEPAS South Africa.
“With the L6, the aim is to bring space, comfort and technology together in a way that feels considered rather than complicated. To see its interior recognised at an international design event in Turin is something we are very proud of, particularly as South African customers are now getting to experience the L6 for themselves.”
The award arrives just as the L6 joins the expanding local LEPAS lineup, joining the L4 that launched earlier in the year.
In South Africa, the L6 comes in Javan and Pantera trims, both powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine making 108 kW and 225 N.m sent through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic. Prices start at R469,900 for the Javan and R499,900 for the Pantera.
The 2026 Torino Automotive Design Award marked the second edition of the international event, connecting European and Chinese car design hubs in Turin. Alongside the L6's interior win, awards were handed out across all three categories for exterior styling, interior layout, and technological innovation.
