Government has announced another phase of its Government-Business Partnership with Big Business, aiming for three percent growth and one million new jobs by 2030.

The real job creators were not in the room. Politicians, NEDLAC, and listed company CEOs were. SMMEs make up 91 percent of formalised business and employ 60 percent of the labour force, yet they had no seat at the table.

In the enclosed video, Gerhard Papenfus, Chief Executive of NEASA, argues that growth and jobs come when ordinary businesses can afford to operate and hire, not from elite talk shops that recycle the same rigid policies.
