Automechanika Frankfurt 2026, the leading international trade fair for the automotive aftermarket and service industry, opens today at Messe Frankfurt in Germany, and will run until 12 September.
Over five days, the event will bring together thousands of professionals from across the automotive value chain at one of the sector’s most important international business gatherings.
At its last edition, Automechanika Frankfurt welcomed more than 4,100 exhibitors from 76 countries and attracted over 107,000 professional visitors from 172 markets, figures that confirm the fair’s status as an unmissable meeting point for manufacturers, distributors and buyers worldwide.
Autoparts From Spain, the platform representing Spain’s leading manufacturers and exporters of automotive components, is taking part in the fair once again with a strong delegation of companies: AMC, Autofren Seinsa, DOGA, DYS-IR, FAE, Frenkit, Fersa Bearings, ICER Brakes, Proquisur, Talosa and Tecnodiesel Murcia. Part of the Spanish Pavilion, these companies bring their technological capabilities, industrial expertise and strong export track record to buyers, distributors and professionals from key international markets.
Spanish automotive suppliers’ presence at Automechanika Frankfurt comes at a time of strong international performance for the sector. In 2025, Spain’s automotive components industry posted turnover of €40.949 billion and exported components worth €24.688 billion, more than 60% of total turnover. The European Union accounted for 68% of these exports.
Germany was the leading destination, with €4.051 billion in exports, followed by France, with €3.738 billion, while the UK remained the leading market outside the EU, with €1.405 billion, up 4.7% year-on-year. As global supply chains continue to diversify and move closer to key markets, Spain’s proximity to Europe’s major vehicle manufacturing hubs reinforces its role as a strategic supply partner for the industry.
The sector also stands out for its technological intensity: Spanish suppliers invested €1.220 billion in R&D&I during 2025, equivalent to 3% of turnover and double the average for Spanish industry, with automotive components accounting for around 75% of a vehicle’s final value.
“Automechanika Frankfurt opens its doors at a pivotal moment for the sector, as the industry charts its course towards electrification, digitalisation and new mobility models. For Spanish companies, these five days are an opportunity to engage with customers, distributors and strategic partners, and to strengthen our position in markets as important to our exports as Germany, France and the UK,” said Mª Begoña Llamazares, Market Director at SERNAUTO and spokesperson for Autoparts From Spain.
The 2026 edition will focus on several of the trends defining the future of the automotive and aftermarket industries. Among the new features is the HighTech4Mobility Forum, designed as a platform to explore the latest innovations and solutions related to Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs), one of the most significant technological transformations currently reshaping the industry.
Alongside this new initiative, the Automechanika Frankfurt programme will address topics such as innovation, industrial transformation, sustainability, talent attraction and workforce development, reflecting the challenges currently facing the sector. The exhibition will therefore continue to combine its traditional role as a commercial platform with an increasing emphasis on knowledge sharing and discussion of the trends shaping the future of mobility.
Many of the themes featured at Automechanika Frankfurt align closely with the areas in which Spanish automotive suppliers are actively investing and innovating, including electrification, connectivity, vehicle digitalisation and more sustainable manufacturing processes. Their presence at the exhibition will provide an opportunity to showcase advancements in these fields while strengthening relationships with manufacturers, distributors and industry stakeholders from around the world.
