TecAlliance launches Kyvera to build the aftermarket’s next shared data foundation

As artificial intelligence and digital platforms become increasingly important across the automotive aftermarket, the industry faces a growing challenge: how to connect and use data that remains scattered across thousands of systems and companies.

TecAlliance today announced the launch of Kyvera GmbH, a new subsidiary focused on addressing that challenge.

The independent aftermarket has more data than ever before. Product information, diagnostics, workshop data, e-commerce content and vehicle data are generated across thousands of companies every day. Yet much of that information remains fragmented, duplicated and difficult to connect.

Kyvera builds on the foundation established by TecDoc, the standard for parts and vehicle data across the independent automotive aftermarket. As digital platforms, software-defined vehicles and AI change how information is created, shared and used, the industry faces a new generation of data challenges that require new forms of collaboration.

Kyvera has been created to address that challenge. Operating as a neutral industry infrastructure, it aims to help market participants exchange and use data in a standardised, sovereign and purpose-driven way while retaining control of their own information.

“For more than 30 years, TecAlliance has helped the aftermarket work more effectively through trusted data, industry standards and collaboration. As the industry evolves, new challenges emerge that require new approaches. Kyvera allows us to explore these opportunities together with the market while building on the strong foundation we have created over decades. It is a natural extension of our mission to help the aftermarket solve challenges that no single company can solve alone,” explains Peter van der Galiën, CEO of TecAlliance.

“The aftermarket is data-rich but insight-poor. The question is no longer whether the industry's data foundation will evolve, but who will build it and under what rules. Kyvera is designed to ensure that this next step remains in the hands of the market itself,” adds Christian Müller, Managing Director of Kyvera and Vice President Strategy at TecAlliance.

Kyvera follows a use-case-first approach, bringing together groups of market participants to address specific industry challenges and build shared solutions where collaboration creates value.
