OICA (International Organization of Automobile Manufacturers) and the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) will hold a joint physical and online news conference in Beijing on April 23 to announce the latest global automobile production and sales figures gathered through OICA’s members.
Presented by OICA Secretary General François Roudier, the data is being released on the eve of the Beijing Motor Show. It is a timely snapshot of the global automotive industry in a context of growing geopolitical and trade tension, and industrial transformation.
More than headline growth, the data highlights where automotive competitiveness, production and demand are shifting globally, including:
- A continued rebalancing of global production toward China and Asia
- The growing weight of electrification in shaping competitiveness
- Unexpectedly strong and positive signals from Africa
- How the Americas are overcoming political and trade‑related constraints
- Europe is still searching for its position in an increasingly restructured global market
