Mikel Mabasa transitions from naamsa after six and a half years of transformational leadership

The Automotive Business Council today announced that its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Mikel Mabasa, will be stepping down from his role to pursue personal interests outside the organisation.

Mr Mabasa’s tenure, spanning six and a half years, has been marked by steady and strategic leadership during a period of significant change within the automotive sector. Under his stewardship, naamsa has consolidated its position as a credible and authoritative voice of the industry, actively shaping policy discourse and strengthening stakeholder engagement across both the public and private sectors.

A key feature of his leadership has been the expansion and diversification of naamsa’s membership base, reinforcing the organisation’s representativity and influence within the broader mobility ecosystem. “We thank Mikel for his dedication and leadership over the past six and a half years. His impact on the organisation has been both substantive and enduring. We wish him every success in his future endeavours,” the Council said.

Further announcements regarding interim leadership arrangements will be made in due course.
