Since launching in November 2017, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio has set the bar within the executive SUV class, when it comes to delivering a thrilling driving experience, outstanding performance and for its eye-catching, sporty styling. Now, the 2019 AutoTrader SA Car of the Year finalist also adds most cost-effective vehicles to service to its ever-growing list of accomplishments.
The 2019 edition of the well-respected Kinsey Report was launched this week and found that the Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2,0T Super Q4 was the most economical car to purchase parts for and service in the executive SUV/crossover class. The Stelvio's various parts baskets came to a grand total of R135 029.42, beating out competitors such as the Toyota Prado 3.0 DT VX Auto (#2), whose parts basket total amounts to R199 428.82 and the Jaguar E Pace D180 HSE (#3) and its figure of R212 968.96.
The report has been put together by seasoned motoring journalist Malcolm Kinsey and can be viewed at here. It details the pricing of parts available for vehicles within 9 different categories ranging from city cars and entry-level, through to super mini, family favourites, and executive saloons.
Graham Eagle, MD of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) says: "The findings of the 2019Kinsey Report are the latest testament to the extensive investments that FCA has made in the Alfa Romeo brand. This investment has not only helped make cars like the Stelvio incredibly reliable and dependable, but also allowed these vehicles to become serviceability champions for local consumers, both in terms of the quality and affordability of parts and services."
This is not the first reliability and dependability feather in Alfa Romeo's cap, since earlier this year, respected British motoring publication, Auto Express, released the results of the Driver Power 2019 brand survey, with Alfa Romeo managing a highly impressive second place in the 2019 manufacturer survey thanks to its overall satisfaction rating of 92.04%. Last year, another notable British publication What Car also placed Alfa Romeo close to the shining lighthouse of rock-solid reliability within its 2018 What Car Reliability Survey.
