As the leading Chinese brand of SUV's and Bakkies goes from strength to strength in the South African motor industry landscape in terms of sales and dealer infrastructure, the growing brand is not for one minute sitting back in terms of giving back to South Africa.
Haval Motors SA recently hit a monthly sales record of over 960 units with combined bakkie and SUV retail sales, they celebrated their second anniversary in South Africa, opened their 53rd dealer and got a Gold rating in the NADA DSI (National Automobile Dealers Association Dealer Satisfaction Index) for Haval and a Silver rating for GWM. So to say things are going from strength to strength for South Africa's favourite Chinese Car brand is a minor understatement.
In 2018 Haval Motors SA did a huge trek starting in Johannesburg going north east through the Kruger park then down to Durban and explored the east coast of South Africa and finished in Cape Town to show their SUV and bakkie range's leisure and all terrain prowess and travelling capabilities whilst stopping along the way en-route to make some large contributions to deserving charities along the way.
The 2019 event promises to be more of the same, however, this time the picturesque setting of the Panorama Route in the heart of Mpumalanga has been chosen to traverse and enjoy. Starting on the 28th of June a delegation of South Africa's leading motor industry press members will be met at the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport from there the group of Havals and GWMs will head into the heart of Mbombela to the newly opened Haval Mbombela dealership for a light hearted soiree in celebration of their newly established dealership. The next day will be filled with test drives and hard core motoring journalism only. Day three will be the first explorative driving day with the group heading to landmarks like God's window, Lisbon Falls and The Pinnacle Rock.
After an overnight pit stop in Blyde River the caravan of cars will head to Graskop for a day filled with thrills and activities. On day five the motoring journalists will hand over the proverbial torch to a group of lifestyle journalists, bloggers and social media influencers. From the airport the trek will head up to Swadini for an overnight rest followed by a trip to Hoedspruit for a conservation exercise of the Rhinoceros kind. Day three will be filled with sightseeing on the Panorama route and extreme antics. The final day will see the group stop in White River to make a welcome donation to the Child Welfare organisation in the area followed by a short trip back to the airport for their flight home. Follow our social media platforms for updates during the expedition and if you see the vehicles on the road, remember to greet with a friendly #HavalHowzit.
