For the second year in a row Williams Hunt Port Elizabeth was the title sponsor of the 2019 Tuna Classic which took place from Thursday [23 May] to Saturday [25 May] at the Port of Port Elizabeth Deep Sea Angling Club . The Tuna Classic is regarded as one of the biggest premier Tuna tournaments in the Southern Hemisphere - in terms of total number of anglers and boats entered, as well as total prize money on offer. It is estimated that the tournament generates in excess of R2-million for the economy of Nelson Mandela Bay. The Tuna Classic has for many years been a firm favourite on the South African fishing calendar, since the hosting of the first competition in 1991.
