Castrol Classic introduce three new specialist products, from their specialist Racing collection and advanced Performance and protector series.

The React SRF Racing brake fluid, Axle Z Limited Slip 90 protector and the new B373 Racing Gear Oil

Castrol React SRF Racing

The new React SRF Racing brake fluid from their advanced performance series is for maximum performance in all types of racing conditions. It’s a Synthetic high performance brake fluid of special value in competitive motorsport where extreme braking conditions are encountered that requires an exceptionally high vapour lock point. Used on the World land speed record attempt by the Bloodhound Project, World Rally Championship for Volkswagen, and the International Jaguar team.

The compressibility of Castrol React SRF Racing is very like that of current DOT 3 and DOT 4 fluids. It can therefore be filled into any braking system used in motor sport except for those for which a mineral oil is prescribed.

For all braking systems where conventional or polyglycol brake fluids are recommended in high performance vehicle and competition applications. Highly recommended for cars used for “Club and Track days”. Widely used in racing, from Formula One, sports cars, V8 Supercar, Grand Prix, and Superbikes.

The exceptionally high dry boiling point (higher than 300°C) makes Castrol React SRF Racing ideal for use under arduous braking conditions such as rallying or racing. It exceeds the boiling point requirements of DOT 5 brake fluids. The additional advantage is sustaining high vapour lock point characteristics during its service life.

It is miscible with all conventional fluids meeting the US Federal Standards FMVSS 116 DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5.1, ISO 4925 and current SAE J1703. This means that changing the brake system to Castrol SRF is easy. Drain and flush out the conventional brake fluid with Castrol SRF then top up the system with Castrol React SRF Racing. Although Castrol React SRF Racing is miscible with conventional brake fluids, topping up Castrol React SRF Racing with conventional brake fluids will reduce the benefits of the product.

It is compatible with seal rubber and metal materials used in brake systems using conventional polyglycol brake fluids. It is similar in viscosity to conventional brake fluids so is easy to bleed like conventional brake fluids.

Castrol React SRF Racing is suitable for all disc and drum brake systems used in motorsport. It complies with the requirements of the following specification: SAE J1703 & J1704, FMVSS 116 DOT 4, JIS K2233 Class 4 and ISO4925 Class 4.

Castrol B373 Racing Gear Oil

The Castrol B373 Racing Gear Oil is also suitable for limited slip systems, and developed for performance cars and racing.

Castrol B 373 Racing Mineral Car Gearbox Oil an extreme pressure gear oil which combines limited slip performance with excellent load carrying ability. Particularly suitable for use in limited slip final drives in competition vehicles.

Suitable for Plate Type LSD's, ideal for Race and Rally Cars. The new Castrol Axle Z Limited Slip 90 from their Protector Series for all limited slip differentials for high load protection and extra long-life. API GL-5; Limited slip applications; ZF TE-ML 05C, 12C. 16E. 21C

Castrol Axle Z Limited Slip 90

Castrol Axle Z Limited Slip 90 is an SAE 90 mineral oil based gear oil which is suitable for use in limited slip differentials in cars and commercial vehicles where API GL-5 oils with specific limited slip friction performance is required. It can also be used in conventional differentials. It is approved by ZF for use in their multi-disc wet brakes and self-locking differentials used in a range of commercial vehicle applications including axles in off-road and agricultural equipment.

Optimised and stable friction characteristics for effective operation of limited slip differentials throughout the drain interval. Very good wear protection, even under severe conditions, prolongs component life. Specifically formulated to meet friction requirements of ZF wet brakes and locking differentials.
